The Best Month to Visit Disney World in 2027

Find the best month to visit Disney World in 2027 based on crowds, weather, and special events.

Planning a Disney World vacation in 2027 and not sure when to go? Use the Crowd Calendar to see predicted crowds for every month.

If you want the best balance of weather and crowds, I recommend May. If low crowds are your top priority and you can withstand the summer heat, September is a great choice.

May: Best Overall

May offers a great balance of manageable crowds and warm weather before the summer heat and rain.

There are youth cheer and dance competitions in early May, which can bring additional crowds to Disney World. Outside of those events, crowds are generally manageable. You'll also want to avoid Memorial Day weekend at the end of May, when crowds increase.

The weather is warm, but the intense summer heat and rainfall haven't fully arrived yet. EPCOT's International Flower & Garden Festival also runs through May 31, 2027.

Check out the MouseDays Crowd Calendar to see how individual dates in May compare before booking your trip.

Best for: A balance of crowds, weather, and EPCOT's International Flower & Garden Festival.

Late January: Cooler Weather and Lower Crowds

Late January is one of the better times to visit if you want cooler weather and lower crowds.

The first part of January can be busy due to the holiday season and runDisney Marathon Weekend. Youth cheer and dance competitions can also bring additional guests to Disney World throughout January, particularly around the middle and later parts of the month.

EPCOT's International Festival of the Arts begins January 15, 2027, giving you another reason to visit during this time.

January is also one of the coolest and driest months of the year, although you'll want to pack layers for chilly mornings and evenings.

Best for: Lower crowds, cooler weather, and EPCOT's Festival of the Arts.

September: Lowest Crowds

If your biggest priority is avoiding crowds, September is one of the best months to visit Disney World.

Once children return to school and Labor Day has passed, crowds tend to be very low. The tradeoff is the weather. September is one of Orlando's hottest and rainiest months, and it falls during the peak of hurricane season.

Afternoon thunderstorms are common, and you'll need to be prepared for hot and humid weather.

Best for: Very low crowds if you don't mind the heat and rain, and EPCOT's Food and Wine Festival.

Early November: Cooler Weather and the Start of the Holidays

The first two weeks of November are a great option if you want cooler weather without the large crowds that arrive later in the holiday season.

November is significantly cooler and drier than the summer months, making it much more comfortable for spending long days in the parks. Holiday decorations may also begin appearing around Disney World. EPCOT's Food and Wine Festival goes through mid-November.

Crowds generally increase later in November, particularly around Thanksgiving.

Best for: Cooler weather and the beginning of the holiday season.

Early December: Holiday Magic Before the Christmas Crowds

The first two weeks of December offer another opportunity to experience Disney World during the holiday season before the Christmas crowds arrive. Just make sure you check for holiday parties when planning your park days for Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.

The weather is typically cool and relatively dry, and Disney World is fully immersed in its holiday celebrations. If you want to see the parks decorated for Christmas without dealing with the massive crowds of Christmas week, early December is a great option.

Crowds begin increasing as Christmas approaches, so try to visit during the first half of the month.

Best for: Holiday decorations, cooler weather, and lower crowds.

So, What's the Best Month to Visit Disney World in 2027?

There's no single best month for everyone, but these are some of the best options depending on your priorities:

  • Lower crowds + moderate weather: May
  • Lowest crowds: September
  • Lower crowds + cooler weather: Late January
  • Holiday season + cooler weather: Early December

Use the MouseDays Crowd Calendar to compare expected crowd levels across different dates and months.
